THE PEACEKEEPER
The Peacekeeper exists because apparently putting your shoes away is harder than it sounds.
I originally built it for a very tall human with a collection of cowboy boots. I wanted something sturdy enough to sit on comfortably while pulling boots on, with dedicated storage for both tall boots and everyday shoes, and, perhaps most importantly, fewer footwear-related death traps scattered around the house. So I skipped the plans and built what we needed.
At five feet long, The Peacekeeper has a dedicated three-foot boot section with 16.5 inches of clearance, plus a two-foot shoe section divided into two 7.5-inch-high rows. The entire piece is built from substantial 1½-inch-thick solid wood, with an 18-inch seat height and slim 11½-inch depth. There's nothing delicate or complicated about it. It's sturdy, practical, stays out of the way, and does its job every single day. Keeping the peace. And the shoes off the floor.
Made to order. Built for life.
